Astronauts vote in the midterms from the ISS, two flew up on SpaceX Crew-13
Three NASA astronauts on the International Space Station voted in the US midterms from orbit. Anil Menon said on X on 3 November that he, Luke Delaney and Jessica Watkins filled out electronic ballots and sent them securely to election officials, and posted a 29-second video of his "voting booth": his crew quarters on the ISS, Space.com reports. The ballot is encrypted and goes via Mission Control at NASA Johnson to the county clerk. Most astronauts register in Harris County, Texas, home of Johnson Space Center; Texas has allowed voting from space since 1997. Delaney and Watkins launched to the station on 1 October on SpaceX's Crew-13 mission. Democracy now has a polling place in orbit, and a SpaceX ride to get there.
