Korean consumer group targets Tesla over FSD sales

Tesla's Full Self-Driving is running into a trade-rules problem in South Korea. The consumer group Citizens United for Consumer Sovereignty plans to file a complaint with the Korea Fair Trade Commission on Thursday asking regulators to stop Tesla from marketing FSD to owners whose cars cannot legally run it, Electrek reports, citing Reuters. The issue is where the cars are built: the Model S, Model X and Cybertruck come from US factories and enter Korea under the KORUS free trade agreement, which recognizes US safety standards — the only Teslas that got "FSD (Supervised)" when it switched on in Korea late last year. The Model 3 and Model Y come from Giga Shanghai and need Korean approval FSD does not yet have. A week ago, a Seoul court threw out a refund lawsuit over FSD. The fix is regulatory approval, not less autonomy.
