SpaceX up 8% in premarket after earnings beat and Musk hints at Tesla tie-up
According to CNBC, SpaceX shares jumped about 8% in premarket trading after the company reported third‑quarter revenue of $14.6 billion, a 161% increase year‑over‑year that exceeded consensus estimates, and posted net income of $4.4 billion versus a loss a year earlier.
On the earnings call, Elon Musk said he is considering a merger with Tesla, noting that both boards have set up committees to study a combination, and the company projected first‑quarter 2027 revenue between $33 billion and $37 billion, well above analyst forecasts, driven by Starlink recurring revenue and a ninefold rise in its Super Intelligence segment to $7.56 billion.
Analysts highlighted insatiable demand for AI cloud capacity and continued pricing power, which lifted shares of other space firms and cloud providers such as Coreweave and Nebius in premarket trading.
