SpaceX reports its second earnings today: here’s what to expect
According to Teslarati, SpaceX reported third-quarter results and Elon Musk disclosed that Tesla and SpaceX have formed special committees to study a merger. The company posted revenue of $14.58 billion, up 161 percent year over year, with its Super Intelligence segment at $7.56 billion. Analysts had expected revenue near $12.7 billion and EPS around $0.13, with AI revenue doubling sequentially.
The call addressed Starlink subscriber growth, capital spending, Starship milestones, and the Cursor acquisition. On the merger, Musk said he favors combining the companies but stressed no terms are set and any deal needs approval from 50 percent of Tesla's outstanding shares, a hurdle that has blocked past measures.
Tesla's December annual meeting does not include a merger vote, so a special meeting would be required. Tesla is scheduled to report its own quarterly results soon after SpaceX's call.
