SpaceX’s AI business is beating expectations
According to TechCrunch, SpaceX reported $14.6 billion in third-quarter revenue with artificial intelligence now accounting for 52 percent of income, driven by its renamed Super Intelligence business line that generated $7.5 billion from the Cursor coding tool, Grok bot, and a neocloud operation with 1.7 gigawatts of compute capacity.
The AI segment produced $431 million in profit before $1.2 billion in one-time stock compensation tied to the Cursor acquisition, while capital expenditures reached $19.6 billion as the company builds a second data center and invests in Starship. The chief financial officer said spending of $35 billion to $40 billion is planned for the fourth quarter.
SpaceX posted net income of $4.4 billion, reversing a $1 billion loss a year earlier, though the first nine months show a $413 million deficit. Starlink subscribers grew to 13.6 million, and the next Starship test flight in November will attempt to recover both stages.
