SpaceX delivers blockbuster Q3 results as Super Intelligence segment booms
SpaceX reported its first solidly profitable quarter since going public, with revenue of $14.58 billion, up 161% year over year, according to Teslarati. The Super Intelligence segment generated $7.56 billion, an 830% increase, becoming the largest segment. Adjusted EBITDA reached $8.8 billion, GAAP net income was $4.4 billion, and capital expenditures totaled $19.6 billion, mostly for AI infrastructure. Starlink revenue grew 69% to $5.25 billion, with 13.6 million subscribers. The Space segment contributed $1.77 billion, boosted by the first revenue-generating Starship mission. The company held roughly $90 billion in cash.
During the earnings call, Elon Musk said Tesla and SpaceX formed special committees to study a merger, citing shared work on super intelligence, chip design, and robotics. Musk supports the idea but cautioned that no terms have been agreed and any deal requires approval from 50% of Tesla's outstanding shares, a high hurdle. Tesla's annual meeting is set for December 3.
