Tesla Cybercab gets a for sale date at last
Tesla plans to start delivering its Cybercab robotaxi to customers by the end of 2026, according to Teslarati. During the third-quarter earnings call, the vice president of engineering said production is underway at the Texas factory but all current units are allocated to Tesla's own robotaxi fleet. The chief executive described the Cybercab primarily as a transport-as-a-service offering, with the vast majority remaining Tesla-owned. The vehicle lacks a steering wheel or pedals and relies entirely on the Full Self-Driving system. Early units have been operating in a public robotaxi service since September. The company previously targeted a price around $30,000. Unsupervised Full Self-Driving for consumer vehicles is expected in the second quarter of 2027, and initial customer deliveries may be limited by regulatory approvals.
