SpaceX fires up Starship upper stage ahead of landmark Flight 15 test launch (video)
SpaceX completed static-fire tests of the Starship upper stage for Flight 15, including a full-duration six-engine burn and a single-engine deorbit simulation, following a successful 33-engine test of the Super Heavy booster.
The company aims to launch Flight 15 in November and, pending regulatory approval, will attempt to catch both stages using the launch tower's chopstick arms at Starbase. Super Heavy has been caught three times previously, but this would be the first Ship capture attempt.
Flight 14 in September marked the first orbital achievement for Starship and deployed 26 next-generation Starlink satellites, beginning a constellation planned to reach 100,000 spacecraft. SpaceX also intends to use Starship for a future Starmind constellation of up to one million AI data-center satellites.
