Tesla Full Self-Driving becomes main pillar of new Referral Program

Tesla has made Full Self-Driving subscriptions the centerpiece of its revised Referral Program launched on October 29. Under the new structure, when a Tesla owner on an FSD trial subscribes using a referral code, the code holder receives one month of FSD (Supervised) free. Each code can be used up to 12 times per year, with the count resetting on January 1, allowing a maximum of one year of free FSD.

The previous program awarded $250 in Tesla credits for vehicle purchase referrals, which could cover service, Supercharging, or shop purchases. According to Teslarati, the new approach is more attainable because an FSD subscription requires a smaller financial commitment than buying a vehicle. The article notes that 75 percent of deliveries in the third quarter included an FSD subscription, and that FSD data remains instrumental to improving the system, benefiting both the company and consumers.
