SpaceX Completes Three Static Fires in Three Days for Flight 15
According to NASASpaceflight, SpaceX completed all engine testing for Flight 15 and advanced Flight 16 preparations during one of the busiest eight-day spans in the Starship program's history. The company conducted three static fires in three days, including a full-duration 33-engine static fire for Booster 22 and a six-engine static fire plus a single-engine deorbit burn simulation for Ship 42.
Teams also performed catch testing with Ship 43 at Pad 2, practicing lifting, alignment, and safing procedures for future ship recoveries. Ship 43 is now in Mega Bay 2 for engine installation before its static fire campaign, while Ship 42 undergoes final inspections and will receive its flight termination system charges and Starlink payload before Flight 15.
The Flight 15 launch date has been pushed to no earlier than November 12 due to paperwork for returning a ship to the launch site. Infrastructure work continues at Pad 1 with flame trench and launch mount installation, and at the Sanchez site where the new launch mount's top deck deluge plates have been placed.
