Tesla turns to Turo to boost adoption of Full Self-Driving (Supervised)
According to TechCrunch, car‑rental platform Turo will begin highlighting which Teslas on its marketplace are equipped with Full Self‑Driving (Supervised) and will give eligible hosts a free one‑month trial of the software.
Tesla recently disclosed that roughly 1.7 million customers worldwide have paid for the system out of more than 10 million vehicles sold, and that over 75 percent of North‑American buyers in the third quarter chose an FSD subscription — a rise of about 20 percent from the previous quarter.
Turo noted that the Model 3 and Model Y rank as its third and fourth most‑rented vehicles, and its chief executive said the integration should increase host earnings as consumer interest grows; the company’s research shows 55 percent of Americans and 71 percent of Gen Z are interested in driver‑assist technology. Renters will see cautionary language reminding them to supervise the system and can view a Tesla‑produced tutorial.
